Monitoring of soil compaction and pile driving
By specification of work rhythm and some special procedures the amount of energy passed into the soil could be minimised. Additionally the activity was supervised by measurements.
Monitoring of Pile driving
Numerous pile-driving operations were monitored as part of contract research projects. In the North Sea, pile driving was measured at the Amrum Bank West site to study offshore wind turbines. Additional pile-driving activities were monitored during the construction of a new Weser River bridge in Hameln.

Vibrations excitated by persons
Structural vibrations can be caused by rhythmic human body movements, such as walking, dancing, or stomping. Measurements of vibrations induced by people have been carried out on structures such as pedestrian bridges. In Hanover, for example, measurements were taken on the connecting bridge over the *Passerelle* at the central station and on the stairways in the *Kuppelsaal* (Dome Hall).
Vibrations excited by machines
At industrial plants the conducting of dynamical forces into machine groundings, base plates and soil as well as the propagation of associated vibrations into the environment are analysed theoretically and by measurement.Efficient isolation actions for vibration reduction are proposed.
Vibrations in pipelines
Vibrations in pipelines often result in leakiness or cracks in the tubes and in vibration in the buildings.
Measurements and computations result in proposals for required actions to avoid damage and annoyance due to vibrations.
Vibrations from bell ringing
Extreme oscillations can occur in the bell towers of churches or monasteries when the bells are rung. Consequently, the tower and roof may begin to sway. In the past, measurements were carried out, for example, at the cathedral in Bad Gandersheim or at churches in Westrhauderfehn or Wittenberg.
Wind-induced vibrations
The canopy of a brewery building in Bremen was examined for susceptibility to wind induced vibrations.
Rail Transportation
Support pillars of a viaduct over the Werra were investigated for Deutsche Bahn AG.
