Proposal of actions to reduce vibrations and noise

The Institute of Structural Analysis conducts vibration and noise measurements and addresses measures for vibration and noise mitigation. Vibration damping is required for structures such as pedestrian bridges, ramps, and chimneys; vibration dampers are employed for this purpose. 

In the past, a vibration damper was designed and installed for a two-span pedestrian bridge crossing the six-lane A2 motorway near Lehrte. Another vibration damper was calculated, designed, and optimized for the entrance ramp leading to the upper level of the Kunsthalle Wolfsburg. A damper has also been installed on a 90-meter-high steel chimney in Itzehoe. For a piping system in Lübeck, vibration isolation was achieved by modifying the bracing and optimizing pump speeds.
