Beschreibung

The computation of environmental conditions, operational loads and structural response of offshore wind energy converters (<prt>OWEC)</prt> with numerical methods is a technical challenge. Currently there exist a large number of tools which are used to design and optimize <prt>OWEC.</prt> These tools are commercial tools like <prt>ANSYS</prt> or <prt>ADAMS</prt> as well as free tools like <prt>FAST.</prt> Additionally there are several self-written academic tools which have been developed in different research projects at different institutes. To accelerate the process of an economical design of <prt>OWEC</prt> significantly a Design and Simulation Framework for Offshore Wind Turbines (<prt>DeSiO)</prt> has been developed which provides modular linking between the fore mentioned simulation tools.
