Leibniz University Hannover is recruiting up to six new professors through its Open-Topic „Leibniz New Horizon Fellows“ programme. Early-career researchers from all fields are invited to apply until 18 December 2025.

Leibniz University Hannover is currently seeking up to six outstanding early-career researchers to join its academic community through the prestigious Open-Topic ‘Leibniz New Horizon Fellows’ Professorships programme.

These are W2 tenure-track positions open to researchers from all disciplines, including engineering, natural sciences, social sciences and the humanities. Candidates are invited to submit innovative research proposals that broaden or complement LUH’s interdisciplinary profile.

Successful candidates will be appointed for five years with the possibility of promotion to a permanent W3 professorship following a positive tenure evaluation. In exceptional cases, immediate tenure may be offered.

This programme is aimed at attracting international talent and fostering academic freedom, interdisciplinarity, and dialogue between science and society.
