The colloquium was organized on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Institute of Structural Analysis (ISD) and more than 10 years of operation of the Test Centre for Support Structures (TTH). The event brought together over 100 participants from around the world. The program highlighted cutting-edge research in multifunctional, lightweight, and durable structures, with a particular focus on wind and aerospace applications. Eight distinguished scientists from the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Portugal, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Ireland, and Germany presented their latest findings on various aspects of the colloquium’s thematic topics. The event also featured a dedicated visit to the TTH, including the New Large Wave Current Flume (GWK+), which showcased state-of-the-art testing facilities and offered unique insights into experimental methods for offshore and wind energy structures. The colloquium provided a valuable platform for the exchange of ideas and the development of synergies among researchers, aiming to define common goals for the coming years. It also served as a strong platform to showcase Leibniz University Hannover’s key research area, “Energy Research.” The event was accompanied by a special issue of the International Journal of Composite Structures (Elsevier, Impact Factor 7.1) titled “Honoring Prof. Raimund Rolfes' 65th Birthday” and a dedicated volume in the Research Topics in Wind Energy book series (Springer, European Academy of Wind Energy) titled “Offshore Megastructures.”
